Klefta started out several years ago as a general freelance translating agency. The fact that we have specialised in legal and business translations does not in any way diminish our capacity or willingness to take care of just about any translation you can think of.

The term general for some implies simple texts that merely require a basic knowledge of two or more languages. Not so. General translations cover many disciplines and a vast number of fields. Perhaps even more than with specialised translations, general translations require a high degree of flexibility, general knowledge, common sense and linguistic creativity. One must possess the skills to switch effortlessly from writing an inspiring advertisement to, say, an emotional or alarming report on the progress that is made in providing food supplies for the Congo, or a pleasantly compelling instruction manual for staff participating in an international exhibition.
What exactly do we consider general translations ?
General translations include texts that relate to virtually every kind of field other than legal, business and finance, which to us are specialisations. We also provide general translations relating - to mention but a few - to charity, advertising, press, fashion, catering, education and training and public relations.
Are there any fields in which we do not provide translations ?
Yes, there are. For a number of reasons we draw the line at highly technical translations relating to advanced chemistry, advanced physics, advanced science, advanced technology, advanced medicine and advanced IT. Other than those, we are yours to dispose of.
Although most of our translations are used for 'regular' purposes, we are also fully qualified to certify them in accordance with the appropriate legislation (sworn translations). We are registered with the Bbtv (Registry for Sworn Translators and Interpreters) in 's Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, which falls directly under the responsibility of the Dutch Legal Aid Council.
